2018 Charter Reform

On June 9, 2018, CHPC Executive Director Jessica Katz testified to the New York City Charter Revision Commission on the topic of the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP). The New York City Charter was revised by referendum in 2018 after Mayor Bill de Blasio set the process in motion by forming the 2018 Charter Revision Commission. The testimony emphasized the importance of creating meaningful community participation processes that balance neighborhood interest with the needs of the citywide housing stock.
