Citizens Housing & Planning Council stands against police brutality and a justice system that criminalizes Black people. We stand in solidarity with the Black community against 400 years of institutional racism, in the demand for justice for lives lost and for an end to the legacy of structural racism.

It is the goal and obligation of the affordable housing community and urban planners to create justice and equity. But too often, housing policy and planning have been employed in the disenfranchisement of Black communities. We strive to promote a better quality of life for New Yorkers, but the past few months have made it clearer than ever that we have not done enough. Racial inequality remains deeply embedded in the fabric of our city, in our homes, communities, and neighborhoods, and continues to inflict pain, oppression, and tragedy.

CHPC joins the thousands of New Yorkers calling for change. We stand with you in the fight for racial justice.
