Alan Wiener, Group Head of Multifamily Capital

Alan Wiener is the group head of Wells Fargo Multifamily Capital, a national multifamily lender based in New York. Wells Fargo Multifamily Capital specializes in permanent and bridge debt for multifamily assets by financing through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac programs, the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) insured financing programs, and the Wells Fargo balance sheet. Alan’s career has focused on housing and community development in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining Wachovia, he was the chairman of American Property Financing Inc., which Wachovia acquired in 2006. Before that, he was executive vice president with Integrated Resources, Inc., where he managed their multifamily debt and equity programs. In his public service career, Alan was area manager of the New York area office of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, where he received an award from the President of the United States for outstanding performance. He also served as an assistant to the Mayor of the City of New York in the field of housing, planning, community and economic development, and as a Deputy Commissioner in the Department of Housing Preservation and Development. Alan serves on the boards of the Community Preservation Corporation, Urban Land Institute for Workforce Housing, and is a member of the Executive Board of The Real Estate Board of New York.
