Congratulations to Cory Booker!

Many congratulations to Newark Mayor, Cory Booker, who was elected to the U.S. Senate this week. Booker will become New Jersey’s first ever African American senator and will fill the seat once held by long-serving Democratic senator, Frank Lautenberg, who died in June.

Back in 2007, we were honored to have the new Mayor as the keynote speaker at the CHPC luncheon – introduced by former American football running back, Tiki Barber. You can revisit that speech here:

We were delighted to celebrate our 54th Annual Luncheon on Thursday April 4 with so many wonderful colleagues! Our extraordinary honorees moved us all with thoughtful speeches connecting the work of the housing and planning industry with improvements to the lives of our population and a better future for NYC’s communities.
